Melly was born in Florida and moved here with her family at 6 years old. She graduated from Syracuse Academy of Science in 2015.

Following high school, she enrolled at Onondaga Community College. There she fell in love with American Sign Language. Melly very much enjoyed the ASL classes and participated in the ASL Club as well.

Throughout high school, she fueled her love for dogs by volunteering at the CNY SPCA. Her current pup is a 3 year old Chihuahua named Mya. Having owned dogs all her life and being around dogs at the SPCA, Melly is excited to have the opportunity to continue working with canines.

In August 2021 she became a Certified Training Partner through the Karen Pryor Academy for animal training and behavior. Melly enjoys training in our puppy program and working with adolescent dogs on their social and obedience skills. Having her own German Shepherd Dog puppy, Avocado, she is expanding her knowledge of more niche training like scent work and learning how to train working breeds.
